Similarly, some categories may include more than one unit of a faction.ĥ. Also, while the total unit capability is important too, the primary concern when analyzing a matchup should be how they do in that particular category. Some units may fall into multiple categories because they have multiple roles, and as such, they may be compared to different units throughout the analysis. Instead, I am assuming that each are balanced in a different way, so that each side reflects, at least roughly, how they would look statwise if they were both in a setting that gave no unfair advantages or disadvantages to another.Ĥ.

While I am looking at this from a perspective that takes game feats strongly into account, I am not literally assuming the hit points and similar listed for each faction are equalized, nor am I assuming main tanks get equal hp or something like that. I realize no two units are exactly the same and the categories are suppose to represent a closest equivalency/best matchup considering the arsenal of the two forces.ģ. Not all of the categories and/or matchups are guaranteed to perfect. Both factions get all the stuff they have from the era presented above.Ģ. Rules: To avoid some of the confusion that often comes in matchups, I am going to make some guidelines for this thread.ġ.

For some matchups, that will depend on how the two units(or more) do against one another in combat, and in those cases, assume stats to not be equalized, but adjusted as to how they would be to each other if they were both designed using the same methodolgy, mechanics, and system for determining stats. Like in the previous the idea is to figure out which unit/units the factions have in various roles and which has the unit that fills that role better.
